Digital Media/Multimedia Design:
The Digital Media/Multimedia Design program offers a sequence of courses that provide industry relevant project work to prepare students for positions in the following fields: Print or Web Design, Digital Photography, Videography and Video/ Audio Editing. Students will develop an artistic proficiency through the use of Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Audition, Premiere Pro, and Adobe Animate to create interactive animated web content.
Digital Photography Technology:
The Digital Photography Technology program is a comprehensive training for the industry that will teach you how to take control of your digital SLR camera. Instruction includes studio lighting and how to use professional lighting equipment for portraiture, as well as how to create videos and cinemagraphs. Students learn image techniques and digital manipulation using Adobe Photoshop and have the opportunity to become an Adobe Certified Associate in Photoshop.
Digital Printing Technology:
Digital Printing Technology is the graphic design aspect of the graphic communications industry. Through training, students will gain an understanding of image manipulation programs, typography, page layout operations, scanning operations, vector-based graphics programs, electronic pre-press operations, and color principles. Instruction is provided in the operation of digital production printing systems and electronic pre-press. Students will become proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat and will be eligible to become an Adobe Certified Associate (ACA).
Graphic Communications and Printing Technology:
The Graphic Communications and Printing Technology program is designed to prepare students for entry level employment in the graphic communications industry. Students will become proficient in graphic design, prepress fundamentals, and offset lithography operations. Students will receive hands on-training in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat.
Television Production Technology:
McFatter’s Television Production Technology program is the most comprehensive training for the industry in South Florida. Curriculum includes everything needed in the video production industry: studio camera, jib camera and remote camera operation, sound mixing and recording, studio and remote lighting techniques, scripting, set and scenery design, teleprompting, technical directing, producing, and video editing. Students edit using Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro and are taught video compositing techniques in After Effects and Photoshop. Additionally, students learn skills that are not taught at other training facilities, such as preventive maintenance and video monitoring. As part of their training, students participate in Broward County Public School’s television station, where they get hands-on experience.
