Program Description:

In a world that never stops communicating, skilled technicians are in high demand. Our Telecommunications and Fiber Optics Technician program gives you the hands-on training and technical knowledge to build, maintain, and troubleshoot the networks that keep us all connected. The Telecommunications and Fiber Optics Technician program is designed to prepare students for entry-level and mid-level careers in the rapidly growing telecommunications and fiber optics industries. The program provides a comprehensive blend of theoretical knowledge and practical hands-on training in voice, video, and data communication systems, with a strong focus on fiber optic technology.

Students will gain expertise in the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of copper and fiber optic cabling systems used in commercial, industrial, and residential applications. The curriculum covers essential topics such as network infrastructure, splicing techniques, signal transmission, testing and certification standards, and safety protocols. Instruction is delivered through classroom lectures, laboratory exercises, and real-world simulation projects that mirror current industry practices. Students will also become familiar with national and international standards including ANSI/TIA/EIA and OSHA guidelines.

This program is ideal for individuals interested in pursuing a technical career path with strong growth potential, especially in sectors such as telecommunications, IT, construction, utilities, and smart infrastructure.
