The Digital Photography Technology program provides comprehensive, industry-focused training designed to help students master the art and technology of digital photography. Participants learn how to take full control of a digital SLR camera, understand essential camera functions, and confidently shoot in manual mode to create professional quality images. Through a combination of textbooks, videos, demonstrations, and hands-on projects, students build their photography skills from the ground up. Beginning with camera fundamentals and techniques such as freezing motion and campturing movements, students’ progress to photographic composition, product photography, studio lighting, and both indoor and outdoor portrait photography. The program also provides training in image editing and digital enhancement using Adobe Photoshop, preparing students for industry-recognized certification opportunities.

Upon Successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared for a variety of career opportunities in the photography industry, including positions in portrait studios, commercial photography settings, and freelance photography businesses.

College Credit

Graduates may be awarded credits towards an Associate of Science Degree or Associate of Applied Science Degree at select Florida state colleges. 

Admissions Requirements

  • Schedule a basic skills assessment ($15) or provide official documentation of a basic skills exemption to your program counselor/advisor.
  • Schedule an appointment with your program counselor/advisor for basic skills assessment results and/or a program specific orientation.
  • Register for classes during open enrollment. Program registration runs on a first come, first served basis.
